Took my 2015 Nissan Altima for registration renewal last week and it failed because the inspector wrote "excessive play in front lower arm" on the report. I honestly don't feel anything strange when driving, no clunks or wandering steering, so I'm a bit skeptical. I took it to one garage who quoted me for two new control arms and an alignment for nearly 2000 dirhams. Before I drop that kind of money I want a proper second look from somewhere that can actually show me what's loose. I'm looking for a proper roadworthy control arm fix Dubai that will put the car on a lift and physically show me the movement before I authorize anything. I found Dynostar's control arm page and they mention a thorough inspection which sounds promising. Has anyone here failed RTA for play but got a second opinion and passed with just a small adjustment or even a different interpretation? I know safety is important but I also don't want to be sold parts I don't need. How much play is actually allowed? Thanks everyone.
